Situated in the northeastern corner of Indiana, Churubusco is a Whitley County town located in Smith Township. The city is positioned near the headwaters of the Eel River. Columbia City is located about 16 miles north of Fort Wayne, the second largest city in Indiana. According to the 2010 census, Columbia City has a population of almost 1,800 individuals. The city was originally made up of two separate towns. Churubusco's post office has been in operation since 1848.

Despite its small size, there are several things to see and do in Churubusco. The city is home to the oldest festival held continually in Indiana, Turtle Days. The festival is rooted in the lore of the Beast of Busco, a large snapping turtle that supposedly haunts nearby Fulk’s Lake. The city is also home to many other community events that are a product of the efforts of the city’s Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Churubusco. Downtown Churubusco is home to many dining and shopping opportunities that will be of interest to all individuals, including famous diners.
