Columbia City, Indiana is located in the northeastern corner of the state and situated in Whitely County. The city serves as the county seat of Whitley County and has a population of about 8,700 people according to the 2010 census. Columbia City was founded in 1839 after the formation of Whitley County and incorporated in 1888. The Whitley Courthouse was designed in the late 1800s by Brentwood S.
