Huntertown is an eastern Indiana town located about 11 miles north of Fort Wayne. Huntertown is situated in Allen County and sits 34 miles from the Ohio border. According to the 2010 United States Census, the city has a population of about 4,800 residents. Huntertown is one of the fastest growing areas in northeastern Indiana. It was settled around 1837 and founded by William T. Hunter. The city was platted in 1869 and incorporated in 1966.

There are many things to see and do around Huntertown. The city has a beautiful library that features a multitude of libraries and reading rooms. The De Kalb County Fair takes place not far from Huntertown and offers wonderful entertainment, an exciting midway, delicious food, and a large merchant tent. Huntertown experiences yearly weather that is characterized by cool winters and warm summers. December, January, and February have daytime temperatures that range from the low to mid-30s on average.
