Located in the northeastern corner of Indiana, New Haven has a population of about 15,700 residents as of 2015. Situated in Adams, Jefferson, and St. Joseph Townships, New Haven is part of Allen County. The city is situated adjacent to the second largest city in Indiana, Fort Wayne, and lies upon the banks of Maumee River. New Haven was platted by Henry Burgess in 1839 and then incorporated as a town in 1865. New Haven then became incorporated as a city in 1963.
