Spencerville is located in Spencer Township, DeKalb County, Indiana. The unincorporated community has a population of about 3,100 people. The community was the first to be settled and built in DeKalb County. Spencerville’s first post office was established in 1839. The community is named in honor of John Spencer, a relative of one of the community’s founders.

There are several notable attractions located in and around Spencerville. Several events are hosted in the community such as the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner as well as Supper on the Bridge, which is hosted and served by local residents and businesses from the community. The community is also home to the Spencerville Community Club that is used for many different occasions. Located about 21 miles south of Spencerville is Fort Wayne, which is Indiana’s second largest city. Fort Wayne is home to many exciting opportunities located not far from Spencerville, such as scenic golf courses, walking trails, and many different shopping and dining opportunities.
